Traditional cement slurry lifting — the budget-friendly option for large slabs
Mudjacking is the original concrete leveling method — pumping a cement-soil slurry under sunken slabs to raise them. It costs less upfront than polyjacking and is a solid choice for large commercial slabs and non-visible areas.
Mudjacking (also called slabjacking) has been used for decades to raise sunken concrete. We pump a mixture of cement, soil, and water through 1.5-inch holes drilled in the slab. The slurry fills voids and hydraulically lifts the concrete back to grade.
While polyjacking is our recommended method for most residential applications, mudjacking remains a cost-effective option for large commercial slabs, back-of-property areas, or projects where budget is the primary concern. Mudjacking typically costs $3.50–$14 per square foot in the DFW market.
